A
Guide To Constraint Management
The best
Throughput Accounting book so far. It mainly answers the question
'What is TA?' but does contain practical applications.
Dr John
and Mrs Pamela Caspari clarify constraints - "sifting through the
masses of business data and make sense of it all". The book
distinguishes Constraints Accounting from Throughput Accounting but
they are actually one and the same thing.
Excellent
book about Throughput Accounting basics. The second book (after the
Dougdale book) about Throughput Accounting. A must for any Throughput
or Constraints Accountant.

Accounting for Throughput
One of
the first publications on Throughput Accounting backed by CIMA.
Terminology is somewhat outdated but the basics are still very
applicable.

Applying Little's Law And the Theory of Constraints : An article
from: ASQ Six Sigma Forum Magazine
Recommended for anyone wanting to understand the link between
Little's Law and TOC. A simple basic law far too often ignored or
misunderstood.
A must
read for anyone wanting to invest in new technology who has already read The Goal
three times.
Highly
recommended for project management people.
The
Goal
Absolutely necessary reading and studying. More that 3 million
copies sold.
The
Goal audio CD or audio tapes
Great for
people that commute or stuck in traffic.
If you
can't read the book, see the video in under 1 hour. Excellent
dramatization of the story, really driving home the points. To get
the best from The Goal, read the book first, then watch the movie.
This book is
for the person that really wants to do it properly. Contains major paradigm shift thinking and is a must for both
beginner and advanced TOC people.
The
Haystack Syndrome audio tapes
The book
was professionally recorded.
If you are able to read, buy the book
instead.
The book
could have been one of the greatest TOC training books if it wasn't
for the poor use of the English language and shocking grammar.
However, it is excellent for those that can look past this and it
has a CD with a software simulator (same as in: Manufacturing At
Warp Speed).
A CD
presentation for PC and part 2 of the Self Learning Program. Well
animated and good explanation of basic principles.
Goldratt,
Eliyahu M - Fox, Robert E
The
Race
The
beginning of Drum Buffer Rope, process improvement, synchronous
manufacturing, and more. All in point form and excellently written
with illustrations and a quiz. Very under-rated.

Excellent
explanation of the psychology in Toyota.
Explains
Lean as used in the Toyota Production System as well all the TPS principles.
A 'must'
for anyone wanting to understand the thinking behind Lean.
Fundamentally excellent.
One of
the best comprehensive looks at TOC from someone who really studied
it thoroughly.
A must
for anyone wanting to understand Goldratt's Viable Vision projects
and solutions.

The

Excellent
book. Same principles as used in Throughput Accounting. Also links
well into the Theory Of Constraints.

The
Theory Of Constraints and its implications for Management Accounting
Sponsored
by the Institute of Management Accountants and Price Waterhouse. This book comprises case studies of how TOC worked for them
but lacks in details.

Ptak,
Carol - Schragenheim, Eli
Not so
much about Enterprise Resource Planning as expected, but well
written and more about shortening lead times in supply chains.
Very well
written. Especially appropriate for reading after having read The Goal.

Schragenheim, Eli - Dettmer, William
Manufacturing
at Warp Speed
Enough
can not be said about this excellent book which comes with a CD and
software for a mini plant. The software included is tough but illustrates how policies
and many conditions affect net profit. A must for any business that
has unlimited internal capacity as it explains S-DBR (Simplified
Drum buffer Rope).
The
Measurement Nightmare
Highly
recommended for financial people. Not what an accountant would
expect. Difficult to grasp but the message is there.
Srikanth,
M L - Umble, M M
Two
volumes of fundamental reading for constraints management in
manufacturing environments. The basics of TOC are somewhat
oversimplified but TOC is based on this and it is truly the way to
go.

Re-Engineering the Manufacturing System
Applying the Theory of
Constraints
Easy to
read and explains implementing TOC in manufacturing extremely
detailed and well. Not for the feint hearted. For the real pro's and
members of the 'Haystack Second Half Club'.
The
Theory of Constraints and Throughput Accounting
Basic and concise.
Recommended as a beginners
guide. Simple examples. Easy to follow.
